Xbox Ketchup

So here is the deal...

I used to be a pretty big gamer. Then something happened. I just sort of... gave up.

That was around 2008 or so.

Since then I've dabbled, but at this point I'm what most would call a 'noob'. Lately I've had an itch to return to a hobby that was once so beloved to me, but I felt so lost. For a while I thought about picking up a PS4 or Xbox One, but I wouldn't even know where to start. My finger is so far off the pulse I feel like I would just drown and be way too overwhelmed.  Plus I really could not justify spending $400+ on a gaming console that I might barely play.

So here is what I've decided. I'm going back, yall. All the way back to... 2008. Well, kinda.

I dusted off my old Xbox 360 Core Edition (don't worry, I picked up the hard drive) and popped in Batman: Arkham Asylum.

I played through that game in less than 3 days. I know people have done it much quicker, but that was pretty fast for me. So I got an idea. Since Christmas time is right around the corner, I'm going to work towards getting an Xbox One as my Christmas present... to myself. I used to always look forward to holiday breaks, and all the new games I'd receive as presents. I thought this would be a PERFECT time to get back into the swing of things. There are plenty of OLD games, though. Countless hours of playable material out there that I can enjoy for fairly cheap, since no one really plays those games anymore.

So I'm going to make a list. A list of the best games from 2008 onward. In the coming weeks, I'll pick up the games on that list and start making up for lost time.

Hopefully by the end of December 2016, I'll be all caught up. Caught up and ready to join 2017 with a brand spanking new console, ready to take on those leaderboards.

I figured a blog would be kind of neat, keeping track of all the games I'm playing and my reactions. It might be kind of interesting seeing my viewpoint on games that are almost 10 years old... maybe?

Who knows, lets see what happens. Come along with me, will you?

Please feel free to leave comments regarding games I should play. This post is a little scatterbrained, but I just cooked this idea up for a blog while I was in the middle of Gears of War 2. I promise I will make this as interesting as possible.
